1. serial IC card IC card for data exchange with the outside world, the data flows according to the serial input/output, less electrode contacts, usually 6 or 8. Due to serial IC card interface is simple, easy to use, now most commonly used. ISO7816 international standard defined by the IC card is this card.
2. parallel IC card: IC card for data exchange in parallel with the outside world, a larger number of electrode contacts, generally between 28 to 68. Has two main benefits, one is the speed of data exchange, and second, the storage capacity can be increased significantly under the current conditions.
